Crafted by A&M students, we have developed and refined the manufacturing process!
Prototype Stage
The 12th Brand offers a unique branding iron that allows fans to grill with pride by searing the Texas A&M logo into their favorite meats, bringing college spirit to the BBQ.
Our product is perfect for tailgating, BBQs, or as a distinctive gift for the Aggie in your life, crafted by students who share the same passion for A&M.
Officially licensed and designed with quality, we guarantee our branding iron enhances your grilling experience while supporting student entrepreneurship.
Step 1: Preparation
First, the head of the branding iron was designed using a modeling software and 3D printed to make a plastic model of the part. The part is then imprinted into casting sand to prepare the mold for the pour.

Step 2: Casting
To start the casting process, the aluminum is melted down using the furnace and poured into the mold. It is left for a few minutes to solidify and cool, and then it is removed and cleaned to prepare for machining.

Step 3: Machining
The casted part is then taken to a mill, where each side is faced to make them smooth and consistent. Next, a drill press is used to machine a hole on the back face of the part. The hole is then manually tapped to add threads so the handle can be attached.

Step 4: Assembly
The shaft is threaded into the back of the head. The wooded handle is attached to the other end of the rod and secured with glue.

Testing
When prototyping, we wanted to make sure our brand was effective, so we tested on a variety of food items as we adapted and perfected the manufacturing process
